Whisky review: Michel couvreur ''Pure Malt'' 12 years old bottled @ 43%
-54 malts in this ''Malt Blend''
-from 12-27 years old malt.
Colour: lighter, yet coppery tones.
Nose: Thick caramel, sherry, not very complex for a blend with 54 single malt.
Mouth: Spices, caramel, light iodine, spirity, some sweet notes, bits of fruits...yet nothing interesting.
Finish: soft eucalyptus, yet still rough
E for price. Massive fail here at 73$ (SAQ) for this poor whisky. Opt for a JWB at that price...
D for the taste. Considering its pedigree, I was expecting much more from this one. Yet still falls flat.
E for presentation....bottles copy-cat
*I am not sure why the SAQ actually decided to bring in these Michel Couvreur whiskies. They lack in intrinsic quality and taste. Very sad indeed.
