Whisky review : High West Silver Oat Whiskey (non-aged) bottled @ 40%
-Poor bottling
-High price
-Sadly distilled only once...poor 40% for a new make.
Colour: pure and clean white. A tad oily.
Nose: copper, caramel, anise, touches of metal, thick metallic sweet notes.
Mouth: light arrival, anise, medium caramel then down to a so-so vodka.
Finish: None to only a few sweet notes.
C- for the taste. The only reason why this does not fail is the fact that it is a new make spirit. Put in good casks, this could go somewhere.
E for the price. at 69$ (SAQ) it's a complete rip off. Avoid.
D for the bottling. Very unattractive.
