Whisky review: White horse blended scotch whisky 700ml bottled @ 40%

Whisky review: White horse blended scotch whisky 700ml bottled @ 40%

-first time buying whisky online
-nice shaped bottle
-cheap and classic blended whisky

Colour : Dark gold, indicating the use of caramel.A bit too dark to be genuine colour, a bit heavy handed on the caramel.looks oily in the glass which indicates a nice hand-crafted product. Very long legs here.

Nose : malt, sweetness, a certain freshness to it too. Some kind of creamy cocoa touches, something is surely hidden behind the nose here. Notes of some kind of fruit juice, very sweet and fresh juice. Not sure I can see the use of talisker not lagavulin...perhaps touches of Bowmore ?

Mouth: malty, sweet apples, not sure I can taste the use of those high-end whiskies. very harsh and spirity. No cocoa notes here, some woody, old woody notes. Seems to be more of a nosing  experience than a taste one. As I let the whisky sit in the glass, it has some notes of Teacher's Highland Cream....But Still a very rough whisky compared to what can be read online.

Finish : leaves a sweet, woody flavour in the mouth, no wow to it.

B- for taste. It's a sad blended, just another one
A+ for the price (85rmb @ 13$+/- and thank god it was so cheap)
A+ for presentation. Nice bottle, classic old-fashioned label
